Health Precinct one step closer to reality

Following an extensive community engagement process, in December 2021, Moreland City Council voted in favour of the conditional sale of 90 Bell Street and 31 Urquhart Street (excluding the Bluestone Cottage) to Coburg Health Hub Pty Ltd (CHH).

Responding to the growing need for healthcare services in Moreland, CHH will deliver a campus-style health hub which includes community health services, aged care and retirement living, childcare and early learning, private hospital, medical centre, mental health facilities, as well as publicly accessible open space.

The services will be delivered by a mix of private and not-for-profit providers.

CHH will invest over $160 million to deliver the precinct, which will in turn provide an estimated $300 million of projected economic benefit to the local Moreland community.

Approximately 1,000 jobs will also be created during the construction phase and upon completion, with health and community services being the biggest growth sector in Moreland. The healthcare precinct will support existing business in central Coburg and Pentridge Village.
